Our Services
Monitoring priority sectors and employment changes
Working with partners to establish a monitoring system on retrenchments and company closures in a particular sector. Our research team is allocated to monitor CCMA notices, liaise with experts, companies and national unions, and produce relevant reports on job losses in the sector.
Retrenched worker data gathering
Facilitating the gathering of data from each of the retrenched workers. This will involve visits to the affected companies to obtain data prior to closure, individual interviews to fill data gaps, and data quality assurance when entering the data in a central database.
Needs Analysis
On the basis of the data gathered and individual interviews, we establish the needs of stakeholders and align programmes to meet these needs.
Programme delivery
Liaising with employers, unions and regulatory bodies to establish skills development programmes and to project manage their implementation. This will involve managing the processes of registration, programme implementation, grant payments and disbursements, and reporting on implementation.
Formulating of business ideas
Facilitating discussions on ideas for businesses, either taking ownership in existing enterprises or forming new ones.
Value chain analysis
Exploring market opportunities within the value chains of relevant companies. Support will be provided to viable enterprises to assist entry into value chains.
Business plan development
Taking forward viable business plans for investment funding and support will be provided to develop such plans.
Provision of incubator support
Working with our incubator partners, including in-house capacity, to provide mentoring and other forms of support. We currently have a network of 176 incubators and accelerators in South Africa. We facilitate an eco-system that enables various different types of entity to receive the specific type of support needed.
